Personal research journey

The subtopic that I chose for my simulation is Ways to Foster Resilience in Children. My personal experience with this process has been very scary. I wanted to make sure that I did the literature reviews correctly and I am not sure. Everything about research scares me and I hope that we can help each other through this course. I found it hard trying to find information that I wanted to use for my simulation. There is so much good information out there and I wanted to make sure that I chose wisely.

Additionally, constructing the research chart did help me to understand key terms in research which will prove to be important to my success. The terms were kind of hard for me to understand at first, but I kept reading them over and over and trying to apply them correctly in a sentence. This helped me to gain a better understanding of the terms.

In conclusion, if anyone has any advice for me I would greatly appreciate it. I know this may be new to many of us and it will be good to rely on each other for support. I do not have any resources to share at this time, but when I do I will post them to the doc sharing page. I wish everyone luck and much success throughout this process.

  1. Michele,
I think that we are all in this together and should be willing to help each other! Dr. Davis is providing many good exercises to help us adjust and learn the "good" way to research. My only advice would be to relax and take it slowly! I am by no means a pro at this, but if there happens to be anything I can help you with, just let me know!

  2. You and I sound so much alike. I agree with Deb, we are all here for each other. Our professor seems like she is here ready to help us get through this course with obtained knowledge. It seems like there is a lot of good information but this week really helped us pick through the good from the bad.

  3. Dr. Davis is a great instructor, I had her for the last class. She is always willing to help and answer questions. She wants us to be successful. I believe we are all a little nervous as this is new to many of us, but I believe we can really help each other, too. Good luck, and if you need any help, I'll do my best :-)

  4. Michele,

Great topic to research; I feel as scare as you about research, however so far I understand it better. I think I had really frightened myself more than anything. I agree with Christelle Dr. Davis wants us to be successful. Good luck and I also will continue to read your blog for new insights about your topic.
